Michelle Alaimo-Geraci

Grievance Co-Chair Certification

Michelle Alaimo-Geraci was appointed to the position of Grievance Co-Chair for the Certification Division in September 2008. Michelle was previously a floor captain, a steward and social action chairperson for the Union. Her duties in this new position are to uphold the contractual rights of workers in the Financial Assistance Division at the Department of Human Services and workers at the Child Support Enforcement Unit. In addition to being a resource to members, Michelle also participates in labor-management meetings and contract negotiations.

Michelle has an associate's degree in Human Services from Monroe Community College and continues to take classes towards her bachelor's degree.

Michelle was recently promoted to Senior Emergency Housing Specialist. In addition to being a mother of two, she has one granddaughter and enjoys spending time with her husband. She lives in Greece. She continues to work on special projects/fundraisers for those in need, and her board position on Alyssa's Angels (see link on home page).

Robert Way, LMSW - Grievance Co Chair Services: This is my first position held in the local. My education and employment history include, between 1991 and 1997, I received BS degrees from SUNY Brockport in Criminal Justice and Psychology. In 2001, while employed by Monroe County, I obtained my Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University. Over the past 11 years, I have held several positions including Examiner in CSEU, Caseworker on CPSI 3, the TANIF Team and with CPSI 8 (Impact). In 2006 I was promoted to Senior Caseworker on CPSI 3 before a lateral move to CPSI 8, where I am currently assigned and working out of the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. While a part of the Multi disciplinary Team (MDT) I have received extensive training in forensic interviewing and have continued to take cases while reviewing others in the supervisory role. In addition, my involvement with the MDT has provided significant insight and experience around the areas of collaboration and protecting the integrity of the caseworkers role in a variety of situations.

Ginny Baggs

Trustee

As a trustee, Ginny Baggs will be responsible for safeguarding the union finances and property by reviewing all of the organization's financial records quarterly, performing an annual inventory, and providing the executive board periodic reports of her findings. Baggs has been employed by Monroe County for 15 years. She was appointed as a trustee in 2009 and previously served FSW as Political Action Chair.

Trustee

Cyril Waugh is one of two trustees on FSW's executive board. His responsibilities include reviewing all of the organization's financial records quarterly, performing an annual inventory and providing a report to other members of the board. Waugh has been an FSW member since 1991.

John A. Rabish

John Rabish

President - Retirees Council

John Rabish has been the president of the Retirees Council since it was established in 2007, and in that role serves on the FSW Executive Board in a non-voting capacity. He worked at MCDHS for 34 years primarliy in Child Protective Services before retiring in 2002. John is a past president and former trustee of the union. He also recently conducted workshops at the Cornell University Labor Relations School on the subject of unions and their public image.

John is currently the Vice President of Marketing at the Pulse Marketing Group in Fairport, New York. He lives in Pittsford with his wife Karen and daughters Carly and Molly. He enjoys spending time with his family, golf and going to Syracuse University basketball games.
